When it comes to our bodies and health, it’s easy to set goals that are actually outside our control—like "lose 20 pounds" or "look toned by summer." And when those goals feel far away or out of reach, we often feel like we’ve failed.
So what we want to do is Instead anchor things in actions (which are in our circle of control) vs outcomes (which are outside our circle of control).
For instance, instead of “Lose 10 pounds” we would say “Walk every morning before work” And instead of “Get 8 hours of sleep every night” we could say “Set my bedtime and turn off screens by 9:30pm”
