Module 7: Attention Is EverythingaudioNaN min
Everyday Awe
Key Takeaway
Marveling at the ordinary shifts your emotional baseline from scarcity to abundance.
Transcript
If attention shapes emotion, then focusing on what you already have is one of the most powerful ways to feel more grounded, more satisfied, and happier!
Today, we’re doing a simple gratitude practice—but we’re going to stretch it a bit further than usual.
Start by jotting down three things you’re genuinely grateful for today.
They can be small or big, practical or emotional. Just whatever feels true in the moment.
Now… let’s take it deeper.
Let yourself be amazed by the ordinary. Things that are so normal, we often forget how incredible they actually are.
Like:
•A mattress. A flat, soft place to sleep. Every night.
•Running water. That comes out of a tap. On demand.
•Hot showers. Clean socks. Windows that let in light but keep out the rain.
•Refrigerators. Music. Bananas. Wi-Fi. The fact that pens just… work.
Let yourself marvel at the everyday.
Noticing even a few of these things shifts your comparison baseline.
It gently reorients your attention away from what’s missing… and toward what’s already working.
Reflection
