Transcript

Take a deep breath in… and let it go. Welcome to AURA. In this short lesson, we’ll explore an intuitive way of understanding your health and emotions — through the lens of Ayurveda and the doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. You don’t need to remember all the terms. Just listen to what resonates. In Ayurveda, your body and mind are made of five elements: space, air, fire, water, and earth. These elements combine into three doshas: Vata (space + air) – the energy of movement Pitta (fire + water) – the energy of transformation Kapha (earth + water) – the energy of structure and stability We all carry all three — but in different amounts. One or two tend to lead, shaping our body type, energy, digestion, mood, and how we respond to stress. Let’s explore each one — and how it might show up in your day-to-day life. Vata – Air + Space Vata is light, dry, quick. If Vata leads in your system, you may: Speak and think fast Love new ideas, but struggle to finish them Feel cold easily Forget to eat — or get bloated after you do Have a light sleep and vivid dreams Emotionally, Vata brings creativity and sensitivity. But when out of balance, it can feel like: “I’m scattered and overwhelmed.” “I get anxious and can’t explain why.” “I start strong, but burn out quickly.” If that sounds familiar, your body may be asking for stillness, routine, warmth, and grounding. Pitta – Fire + Water Pitta is hot, sharp, and focused. If this is dominant for you, you might: Wake up ready to go Set high goals and push yourself Have strong digestion — but get acid reflux when stressed Feel irritable when hungry (hanger is real!) Be drawn to control, order, and achievement Emotionally, Pitta gives you passion and clarity. But in excess, it can sound like: “I snap at people I care about.” “I can’t stop being hard on myself.” “My skin breaks out when I’m stressed.” Your medicine? Cooling down — with nature, play, and letting go. Kapha – Earth + Water Kapha is stable, soft, and nurturing. If it leads in you, you may: Have a curvy or strong body Be naturally caring and calm Sleep deeply, but struggle to wake up Gain weight easily, especially when sad Feel deeply — but may not always express it Emotionally, Kapha offers compassion and loyalty. But in imbalance, it may sound like: “I feel stuck and unmotivated.” “I comfort-eat when I’m overwhelmed.” “I give so much… but forget myself.” Kapha thrives on movement, lightness, and joy. You’re not just one dosha. You’re a changing, living blend — influenced by age, seasons, stress, and life stage. The more you understand your doshic pattern, the more you’ll stop fighting your body… and start flowing with it. Notice what felt familiar today. Was there a pattern that spoke to your current state? You’re doing beautifully. We’ll go deeper in the next lesson.

Reflection
