Module 3: Living in alignment with nervous system + hormonal rhythmsvideoNaN min
The Three-Phase Path to Restoration
Key Takeaway
Restoring balance in the hormonally female body begins with the foundations, not with advanced interventions. Chronic stress often pushes women into patterns of skipping meals, overriding fatigue, eating whatever is convenient, and pushing through their natural limits. Over time, this creates deeper hormonal and nervous system imbalance.
Transcript
When we're living in a state of stress, the imbalance may start because we’re living in a way that creates these issues — but it can also contribute to a pattern of, “I’ve got to keep pushing. I’ll skip this meal. I’ll stay up late. I’ll eat foods that aren’t supportive.”
This doesn’t mean we never do these things, but when they become chronic, they create much bigger issues.
So how do we restore balance?
I like to look at it in terms of three phases:
Phase 1:
Diet, lifestyle, stress management, and nervous system regulation.
If you can dial this in, your body removes obstacles to its innate healing intelligence.
Phase 2:
Supplementation and herbs — but only after phase 1 has been addressed.
Phase 3:
Medical interventions — pharmaceuticals, surgery, bioidentical hormones — when the system is significantly progressed or unstable.
It doesn’t rule out medical support. But what often happens, at least in the West, is that people start at phase three without incorporating phase one or two. So if you start with phase three without stabilizing the foundations, it’s challenging.
When I first started Ayurveda, I wanted to know all about herbs and formulas — that felt exciting. But they always made us begin with diet and lifestyle. At first I thought, “Okay… that’s not as exciting.” But as I got older and saw the impact of these foundations, I began recommending fewer supplements and streamlining everything. People don’t need ten supplements — that strains digestion and taxes the system.
Focusing on fewer, targeted things simplifies, empowers, and puts the healing back in our hands.
Reflection
Where have you been trying to “fix” symptoms with supplements, routines, or medical interventions without first supporting the foundational needs of your body?
