Module 3 Practical Action

Linda suggests a practical Action for this module.

Key Takeaway

For this module, I want you again to create awareness and create a timeline of your reproductive years. What were your cycles like in your teens/ twenties/ thirties and forties? Were there any messages that your body was trying to send you that you ignored? Start a simple “Menopause Log” — track hot flashes, sleep quality, mood, cycle changes, and energy daily or weekly.

Transcript

Okay, so for the practical action for this module, again, I want to create more awareness. This time, I’d like you to look at your timeline — your hormonal journey across your lifespan. In the previous module, we focused on your cycle: what your symptoms are, when they appear, and how you feel at different points of your month. Now, let’s widen the lens and look at how things have changed over time. What were your cycles like when you first started menstruating? What patterns or symptoms showed up in your teens, your twenties, and your thirties? Have they shifted? Are there signs or messages your body has been sending that you might have missed or ignored? When I look at my own timeline — my late teens, twenties, and much of my thirties — I can now see subtle signs that I brushed aside for years. Fatigue, skin flare-ups, anxiety, irregular cycles… all of it was my body whispering. But I didn’t listen until it started shouting through miscarriages and fertility struggles. Looking back, it makes sense — what I was doing, how I was living, and what my body was trying to communicate all lined up. So I encourage you to look at your own timeline in the same way. Because how we go into menopause deeply influences how we experience menopause. If you’re experiencing symptoms right now, know that it’s not inevitable or irreversible. Change is possible — and we’ll explore how in the next module. For now, simply build awareness. You might create a “menopause log” or timeline — tracking key symptoms, when they happen, and what might be going on in your life at that time. Are these symptoms appearing when you’re under extra stress? When you’re not resting enough, or giving too much to others? When you’re skipping meals, over-exercising, or running on adrenaline? See if you can start noticing patterns or triggers. This awareness will become the foundation for the deeper work ahead — especially as we move into Module 3, How Did We Get Here? We’ll begin uncovering what drives these hormonal imbalances, and most importantly, how to start bringing your body back into balance.

Reflection

Journal prompt suggestions: - What changes have I noticed in my body or emotions recently, and how do they make me feel? - How have my definitions of femininity, productivity, or worth evolved as I move through this stage? - If I approached this transition with curiosity instead of frustration, what might I learn about myself?
