Transcript
'Rampage of Appreciation'
How to practice it
Just write freely about the things you appreciate in your life… it can just be a list… whatever works best for you.
This variation is for those who find terminology like ‘appreciation’ easier to work with than ‘gratitude’ and/or for those who prefer a slightly ‘freer’ exercise.
This is not a PPI i.e.: it has not been subjected to studies under research conditions but it still works with what we know about the benefits of giving ourselves space to feel thankful/appreciative/grateful. (Thanks to my good friend Maaike for sharing this with me.)
Tips for practising and personalisation.
It can feel easier to transition from a negative mood into this one than some of the others. Try it to help shift out of a bad mood or to get your day started.
Reflection
If you had to scribble down everything you felt appreciative for in 10 minutes, what might you include?
