Module 1: Grounding the BodyvideoNaN min
Short Meditation
Key Takeaway
Grounding the body through breath and awareness settles the nervous system, supports prana flow, and creates a stable foundation for clarity, intention, and learning.
Transcript
Before we begin, I’d like to take a couple of minutes to guide you through a short mindfulness practice — a simple meditation to help you settle in.
First, bring awareness to your posture.
Sit comfortably with your spine upright and aligned with your head. Let your feet rest firmly on the ground. Your legs can be relaxed — either gently crossed or placed comfortably on the floor or chair.
To connect with your breath, place your palms softly on your lower abdomen. This is your center of grounding.
Gently close your eyes.
Now, take a deep, slow breath in.
And slowly breathe out.
Continue breathing deeply.
Inhale slowly…
Exhale fully.
Maintain this steady rhythm of breath.
Now, gently wiggle your toes.
Bring your awareness to your feet.
Notice how your legs begin to soften and relax with each breath.
Imagine fresh blood flow moving down into your feet and legs, bringing warmth and relaxation.
Allow your abdomen to soften. Let go of any holding in the belly.
As you continue deep breathing, imagine your lungs filling completely with oxygen — nourishing your entire system with prana, your life force.
Slowly exhale, releasing any tension.
Now, bring your fingers gently to your abdomen and notice your arms becoming heavy and relaxed.
With each breath, feel your whole body becoming lighter, calmer, and more at ease.
Allow yourself to leave your worries behind.
Let go of work, responsibilities, and mental noise.
Be fully present in this moment.
Visualize strong roots growing from the soles of your feet, anchoring you deeply into the earth.
Feel yourself connecting to Mother Earth through your Muladhara (root chakra).
With every breath, you feel more grounded, stable, and supported.
Now, imagine a soft, luminous light rising from the crown of your head — your Sahasrara chakra — gently expanding upward.
Feel energy flowing freely, creating a sense of openness and connection with the universe.
Allow this energy exchange to happen naturally — grounded below, expansive above.
When you feel ready, gently rub your palms together.
Place your warm palms softly over your face.
And when it feels comfortable, slowly open your eyes.
Welcome back.
Now, take a moment to connect with the intention you’ve just set for yourself.
As we move into today’s discussion, keep that intention present in your awareness — and allow everything you receive today to build upon that foundation.
Reflection
After this practice, notice how your body feels — especially your breath, abdomen, and feet. What intention feels most supportive for you right now, and how can you carry that grounded state into the rest of your day?
