The Midlife Reset: The Whole Game

Key Takeaway

Food is a powerful foundation, but it’s only one part of what shapes a woman’s hormones and midlife experience. What we eat matters—but so do our daily choices, commitments, stress load, environment, sleep, movement, relationships, and the way we think and live. A truly nourished midlife woman is supported not just through nutrition, but through a lifestyle that protects her energy, honours her capacity, reduces unnecessary stress, and aligns with the way her hormones work. This is why the Midlife Reset moves beyond “what to eat” and guides women through mindset, lifestyle, detoxification, testing, and simple day-to-day shifts that actually fit into real life.

Before we come to the Q&A portion of this webinar, I wanted to highlight that food is only one piece of the puzzle. What we talked about today is a general overview. There’s so much more when it comes to nutrition, and in my Midlife Reset Program, I go into much more detail. The Nourished Woman module in the Midlife Reset is dense. I talk a lot about foods, the different types of macronutrients, how to build a hormone-friendly plate, weight loss, hormonally supportive weight loss, alcohol, coffee, superfoods—so much within that nutrition module. But one of the biggest things I’ve learned in 10 years of working with women, and in my own life, is that while food is important, it is only one piece of the puzzle. It’s important to be nourished from a dietary point of view, but so many other aspects of our lives impact our hormones. Things like the type of exercise we do, our lifestyle, the commitments we make, our environment, the products we use in our home, our thoughts, our relationships—all of these have a massive impact on our hormones. And the more I work with women, the more I notice that while food matters, our lifestyle often has more impact on our hormones than we realise. This is one of the reasons why I created the Midlife Reset Program, which is available on AURA. When I was designing it, I thought a lot about what a midlife woman truly needs. I created modules that are simple recordings of me explaining concepts. At first, I thought I needed slides and lots of visuals, but then I realised: the midlife woman doesn’t have hours to sit and watch graphs. She needs the information delivered in a way that is easy to understand and easy to follow. So the program is online and self-led, guiding you through this stage of life. Each module is broken down into short videos—about 10 to 15 minutes each—that you can listen to without needing to sit and watch. I’ve included examples in the slides of what this looks like. Lessons are broken down into bite-sized pieces so you can move through them at your own pace. This overview shows what we cover: A look at the physiology behind hormones What happens in perimenopause and menopause Causes of hormonal imbalances The Nourished Woman nutrition module Lifestyle factors Supporting detoxification What to consider when getting tested Supplements How HRT may fit into your life Each lesson and module has key takeaways and practical actions that don’t add to your to-do list. These are simple shifts you can choose from—practical actions that fit into your life, not the other way around. I don’t want to add more to your already busy days.

Reflection

Where in your life beyond food do you feel the biggest gap in nourishment? Consider: Your daily stress load Your sleep Your movement and recovery Your home environment and products Your relationships and emotional boundaries Your self-talk and mental habits The commitments you take on Which one area feels most in need of support right now, and what is one simple shift you feel ready to make this week?
