About Me
Dr. Charis Au is a Medical Doctor (MBBS, University of Melbourne) and certified Functional Medicine Health Coach based in Singapore. With over a decade in clinical medicine — spanning Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, and Aesthetic Medicine — she founded Glow Health to offer something conventional medicine often cannot: a root-cause, whole-person approach to chronic symptoms that affect how women feel every single day. At Glow Health, Dr. Charis works with busy women and families who are exhausted, hormonally disrupted, struggling with gut symptoms, or living with skin conditions that haven't responded to standard treatment. Her clinical foundation in functional medicine, integrated with up-to-date research and practical coaching, allows her to identify the underlying drivers behind symptoms — not just manage them. Her approach is grounded in the principle that better health should not require extreme routines, restrictive diets, or a complete lifestyle overhaul. Instead, she builds personalised, evidence-based protocols that work with the demands of modern Singapore life — for professionals, mothers, and anyone caught between a demanding schedule and a body asking for attention. Dr. Charis's personal journey is central to her practice. Having lived with eczema since childhood and developed asthma during a period of intense stress, she experienced firsthand the limits of symptom-management medicine — and the profound difference that addressing the gut-immune-nervous system connection can make. That experience shapes her care: compassionate, rigorous, and deeply practical. Her services include advanced functional medicine testing, structured health coaching programmes, and wellness solutions including red light therapy. She also holds postgraduate training in Mental Health (NUS) and Family Medicine (NUS), and further integrative medicine training through the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) and the Australasian Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine (A5M).
