Take a deep breath in… and let it go. Welcome to AURA.
In this short lesson, we’ll explore an intuitive way of understanding your health and emotions through the lens of Ayurveda and the three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. You don’t need to memorize Sanskrit terms — simply notice what resonates with your experience.
Ayurveda teaches that your body and mind are formed from five elements: space, air, fire, water, and earth — which combine into three doshas, or vital energies. Vata (space + air) represents movement, Pitta (fire + water) represents transformation, and Kapha (earth + water) represents stability and structure.
We all have all three, but usually one or two lead, shaping how we think, feel, digest, and respond to life.
Vata
Vata energy is light, quick, and dry. When balanced, it brings creativity and enthusiasm. You may think fast, love change, and dream vividly. When imbalanced, it can feel like anxiety, restlessness, or overwhelm — starting many things but finding it hard to finish. Vata thrives with warmth, routine, grounding food, and calm.
Pitta
Pitta energy is fiery, sharp, and focused. It gives drive, ambition, and clear perception. You may wake ready to go, set high goals, and have strong digestion. But in excess, Pitta can show up as irritability, perfectionism, or burnout — often with skin flare-ups or reflux. Pitta heals through cooling, play, nature, and compassion toward self.
Kapha
Kapha energy is soft, steady, and nurturing. It provides strength, endurance, and deep emotional capacity. You may be patient, loyal, and calm under pressure. When imbalanced, Kapha may feel stuck, heavy, or unmotivated, with tendencies toward overeating or holding emotions inside. Kapha restores balance through movement, lightness, and joy.
You’re not fixed as one dosha — you’re a living blend, constantly shifting with seasons, stress, and life stage. Understanding your doshic pattern helps you stop fighting your body and start flowing with it. Notice which description feels familiar; it's a doorway into deeper self-awareness.
You’re already doing beautifully. We’ll explore more in the next lesson.
